Use this tool to add tone marks to pinyin or to convert tone number (e.g. hao3) to tone marks.

Although you can use the red buttons to add tone marks, we highly recommend you use the number method (e.g. hao3) for speed and placement of the accent above the correct vowel. [Hint: Type "v" for "ü"]
Note: You do not need to use this tool to enter pinyin in this dictionary.

We all had a nice 7 day break last week for the Chinese ‘Golden Week’ holiday, so Nora’s parents came all the way from Wisconsin to visit her. Before they left, they both joined us to record a Two White Chicks episode with us, all about what it’s like taking your first trip to China, and how to prepare yourself if you’re of the ‘older’ generation.

You can listen to episode 34 with Nora’s parents, Marsha & Brett here!

From This...

If you live in China, you might have seen our old writtenchinese.cn site. Well now it’s definitely worth another visit after its spectacular transformation!

Following Apple’s iOS 9.0 update, we’ve also updated 4 of our apps to fix a launch issue. So if you’re using either the Bigrams Flashcard app
(both versions) or the Chinese Character Flashcard app (also, both versions), don’t forget to look out for the update on your iOS device. Happy Studying!

If you have questions about learning Chinese, or about our apps, please drop us an email at [email protected]!

Happy a great week!
