Use this tool to add tone marks to pinyin or to convert tone number (e.g. hao3) to tone marks.

Although you can use the red buttons to add tone marks, we highly recommend you use the number method (e.g. hao3) for speed and placement of the accent above the correct vowel. [Hint: Type "v" for "ü"]
Note: You do not need to use this tool to enter pinyin in this dictionary.

Here’s What the WCC Elves Have Been Up To September 7 – September 13

This week in the WCC Office….

It was all fun and games during our 6 day week! We had four September birthdays, teacher’s day and another broken shoe adventure (when will the excitement end?!). Nora is officially back ‘in da office’, so the Two White Chicks can resume broadcasting!

In a nutshell:

  • We celebrated some Written Chinese Birthdays!
  • Chamcen and Allen were pleased (or not so pleased) with some surprised gifts on Teacher’s Day.
  • Stu broke his shoe. Again.
  • WCC Dictionary iOS 1.6.1 released
  • WCC Character Paid version
  • WCC Match Game (EN) Android V1.0.6 now works for Android 5+
  • Nora’s back! Yay!

On Thursday we had some Written Chinese Team birthdays. The birthday boys celebrated in style with delicious durian and mango cake (whatever floats your boat) and party hats!

September 10th was also Teacher’s day, so Nora and I celebrated our wonderful Chinese colleagues, Allen and Chamcen for giving us tip top Chinese learning advice and wonderful example sentences!

Stu, our colleague from Arizona, USA seems to have a recurring issue with shoes. if anyone can suggest a good brand of footwear that will last longer than 2 days, please leave us a message!

WCC Dictionary version 1.6.1 for iOS is now available. Improvements include a text display issue, OCR purchases from WCC Dictionary and a sync bug that are now fixed and ready to go!

You can learn more about our Chinese Learning Toolkit here! You can also click on the links below to download it for your iOS and Android devices!

If you can’t access the Android market on your phone, you can just click here to download the WCC Dictionary APK file!

Our good ol’ Character Flashcards App has now been updated to version and has has all the pop-up adds removed. Phew!

WCC Match Game for Android version 1.0.6 now works for Android devices version 5 and above.

Finally, Nora is back with us in the Written Chinese office. I’m not sure how we survived without her! We recorded a new episode of Two White Chicks in China that you can listen to here!

    Here’s to another great week!
