Use this tool to add tone marks to pinyin or to convert tone number (e.g. hao3) to tone marks.

Although you can use the red buttons to add tone marks, we highly recommend you use the number method (e.g. hao3) for speed and placement of the accent above the correct vowel. [Hint: Type "v" for "ü"]
Note: You do not need to use this tool to enter pinyin in this dictionary.

I’m a big fan of 田震! Her songs are really easy to understand and to sing along. My favorites are 折着,野花 and 干杯朋友. Another great singer is Peggy Hsu from Taiwan. Best song to impress Chinese friends at Karaoke with is probably her song 气球. I’d also like to add two absolute classics to the list: 啊牛 – 对面的女孩看过来 and 邓丽君 – 甜蜜蜜. Must-know for every 中国同! 🙂

    • Hollie Sowden

Wow, great Isabella! I’ll add them now! 🙂

    • Chamcen Liu

I thinks the singer should be 阿牛,not 啊牛 ;-). Referred to 阿牛,I‘d like to recommend another song of him is 浪花一朵朵。It had been one of the top 10 songs in KTV.

Would someone be able to translate this song to english and add pinyin to it aswell please? : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc960_u4vKU It would be great to learn this song!! Thanks

    • Hollie Sowden

Hi Ally. We might be able to translate the video in the future, so watch this space! Thanks

  • Boyka

A recent discovery has been 冼佩瑾 or Xian Peijin – very nice, melodic, slightly melancholic pop. She also has a clear elocution, which makes it easier to understand what she actually sings about. Bonus: occasionally she slips a phrase or two in english 🙂 so I don’t feel quite lost! Special attention for 控制狂, 谜底 and 龟兔赛跑冼佩瑾

    • Hollie Sowden

Awesome, I’ll add her to the list. I think she’s relatively new to the music scene so it’s nice to get some newer musicians on our list.

    • Hollie Sowden

I actually couldn’t find the last 2, only the first one. Where did you listen to the songs?

      • Boyka

I use the QQ streaming service – here’s a link to her album there:

        http://y.qq.com/#type=singer&mid=001NXBve0hX2W3

Should be able to listen to the songs even without having to log in.

        • Hollie Sowden

          Great, I’ll do that. Thanks!

  • The second YT link (Chinese characters) for Teresa Teng (1st link in list) is busted. Might want to find an alternative.

    • Hollie

Thanks for letting us know! I’ll take a look 🙂

    • Hollie Sowden

Thanks for letting us know! I’ve added a new link ?
