向 can be used to express ‘towards’.
When it’s used as a preposition use the sentence pattern:
向 + Direction / Person + Verb
For example, 向前看。 Look forward.
It can also be used as ‘from’ as in to learn from someone.
你应该向他学习。 You should learn from him.
