To talk about distance, you can use the following sentence pattern:
Place + 离 + Place + Adv. + 近/远
For example:
美国离中国很远。The USA is far away from China.
Use the question particle, 吗 to ask if something is far away or close to another place.
For example:
你的公司离地铁站近吗？Is your office close to the metro station?
