Use this tool to add tone marks to pinyin or to convert tone number (e.g. hao3) to tone marks.

Although you can use the red buttons to add tone marks, we highly recommend you use the number method (e.g. hao3) for speed and placement of the accent above the correct vowel. [Hint: Type "v" for "ü"]
Note: You do not need to use this tool to enter pinyin in this dictionary.

Study

We can express time using the character 分, short for 分钟 (minute).

When the minute is less than 10, the character 零 (zero), is used after 点 (hour).

For example,

三点零八分。 3:08

In spoken Chinese, 分 can be dropped.

When the minute is more than 10, the structure is fairly simple.

For example:

八点二十分。 8:20
