Study

In the previous lesson, we looked at 地 as a particle with the ‘de’ pronunciation. It also has the meaning of ‘earth’, as the 地  (dì) character, and is often found in bigrams associated with the ground. 

Other useful bigrams are 地上 (dì shang), meaning ground floor and 地区 (dì qū) meaning ‘local’ or ‘district’.
