Use this tool to add tone marks to pinyin or to convert tone number (e.g. hao3) to tone marks.

Although you can use the red buttons to add tone marks, we highly recommend you use the number method (e.g. hao3) for speed and placement of the accent above the correct vowel. [Hint: Type "v" for "ü"]
Note: You do not need to use this tool to enter pinyin in this dictionary.

Study

With spoken Chinese, there is a way to double a verb to express something that will only occur briefly. It’s very casual, and super simple to use!

We can use the sentence pattern,

Subject + Verb + Verb.

This pattern is called reduplication.

For example,

我试试

Let me try.

说说你的问题。

Talk about your problem.

Reduplication can also be done using 一.

For example,

笑一笑

Smile.
